Box Office Report for the days July 7-16, 2006.

I am doing this differently because I missed a 2 weekend reports and one weekly report so I now have the total gross for all 10 days for each movie.  The numbers will be big and I apologize for combining it like this but since I missed those days I can't predict and comment when I know what they will do the next few days.  So here is the biggest report you will see on this site.  Over the span of 10 days.

1.  Pirates...Dead Man's Chest   $258,364,766  $258,364,766

Well, there is your top 11 in the past 10 days.  Unbelievable isn't it?

Pirates of the Caribbean swept me off my feet when it grossed 33 mil more than my estimate.  Then it flew even farther ahead crossing the 200 mil mark in 8 days!  That tied the record of 8 days with Spiderman 2.  I was completely wrong and I am going to tell you.  This is turning out to be another Titanic.  If you think about it, it was a movie with a lot of advertising behind it, a huge budget and bad critic ratings.  Who all had that?  Titanic, that's who.  And if you don't believe me, just look at the fact that it is almost to 300 mil now.  I am almost certain that it will either beat or tie the record for the fastest to 300 mil as it is only about 27 away from that mark.  With the weekend upcoming, I see a huge gross for this Box Office Behemoth.  Think about it.  At the rate it is going it could make Box Office history!  If I am guessing correctly, it will be to 300 mil by this Friday or possibly sooner.

Read more about what I have to think in my Box Office Articles section.

Superman Returns is the biggest disappointment in Box Office history in my opinion.  I thought it would do amazing as it had a 4000 theater release but it slowed to nothing basically.  It took it 12 days to get 44 million!  Also, it is earning no less than 2 mil a day now with small 20-45 mil weekends.  I see this picture getting its gross back with only a little extra.  Yes I know that is good but the main comic book heroes were Superman, X-Men and Spiderman and X-Men and Spiderman are in the top 50 and this isn't even in the top 100 yet.

The only thing it has to be proud of is that it beat all of the other Superman films but that's only because of inflation.

The Devil Wears Prada is creeping its way higher and higher but it isn't gaining much on the rise.  It is in the top 5 Box Office still but I think it will drop soon and gross only a little more before its time is over.

Click.  This movie was really good and I am glad that it is still on the rise still.  It is a unique film and deserves a spot in the 100 top grossing movies of all time.  I am pretty sure it will get there in its lifetime and I hope it does.  Who ever thought of this story was a great writer and thought about each little detail.  I'm also glad it made its budget because that was kind of unknown on whether it would.

Pixar triumphed with Cars again.  They will get at least 300 mil out of this one and it would be nice if they could push the 400 mil mark, but I doubt it.  I see this coming fairly close to Finding Nemo.  It has a lot of publicity and that helps movies get to where they want to be-- or pretty close.

Little Man is surprising in just the fact that it went #2 on this last weekend's Box Office to Pirates.  Pirates' 62 mil gross during this last weekend slimmed down its gross from what it could have been.  If it wasn't up against Pirates it would have made around 30 mil most likely.

You, Me & Dupree is annoying now.  I see so many friggin' TV spots for this movie and frankly, it is really annoying me.  With only about 100,000 less than Little Man, it landed #3 to Pirates this last weekend.  It will die quickly after it has a few weeks of normal grosses.

The Lake House, Tokyo Drift and The Break-Up are in there which gets rid of the X-Men and The Da Vinci Code.  I guess the X-Men don't live long when it comes to the Box Office.
