Rathering interesting week in Box Office sales according to me.  Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties (Garfield 2) entered the top 11 this week with a total 2,052,417.  That is surprising as it was below 11th until this week.  I do not expect Garfield to be in this weekend's Box Office top 11 but I do expect it to possibly be there next week (Mon-Thur).  As for this movie, I don't think it will do too well.  It is only in the lower 20's (in millions) and its been out for 21 days.  I think it has died out mostly due to its small theater count and the fact that sequels usually don't do much unless their something like Shrek 2 or Spiderman 2.

Superman Returns.  Ahhhh...it's nice to see a Box Office behemoth squeeze 35,233,884 from 4 days in the weekly Box Office.  I look for another 40 mil weekend this weekend but Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest will steal this weekend's #1 spot.  I see this baby at 180 or 190 mil by next weekend if things continue the way they have been.  Hopefully Dead Man's Chest with it's 4000 theater count doesn't bury Superman Returns because it has the potential to gross huge.

The Devil Wears Prada is surprising me now.  20 mil during the week!  Wow!  I see it slowing down soon, though.

Click is a great movie and it deserves what it has grossed thus far.  15 mil from a Scrooge-type story based in the 21st century.  This weekend I look for 15-20 mil unless Pirates kills its weekend sales.  Click will be to 150 mil in no time.

I said Cars' publicity would net them some cash.  With Cars raking in 12 mil during the week I look for a small amount this weekend.  A drop of about 50 percent from the weekly revenue.  200 mil is really close for this Pixar flick.

Nacho Libre is a nice, small movie that should earn a hefty amount in its lifetime.  With 5,100,277 this week it should make about 5-10 mil this weekend.  I see this flick making 100 mil very, very soon.

The Lake House.  I saw the trailer for this movie and it looks really good.  This movie seems like it has a nice plot and flows nicely.  Too bad it is distributed by Warner Bros.  With a company like Sony or Paramount to back it, it would have been a lot bigger.  I see 80 or 90 mil in its lifetime.  I doubt it would make it to 100 mil and if it did, it would creep slowly past it.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is a pointless movie in my opinion.  Get rid of the sequels to low grossing movies.  They are not neccessary for anything but losing money.  2 Fast 2 Furious was pushing it but then they rolled out this...  I know I said no more than 125-150 but now I am saying no more than 80 or 90.

The Break-Up... Wow, this baby just keeps climbing!  It must be a good comedy because it has grossed 112 mil already!  I see this film making at least 140 or 150 mil and it could (I am saying it COULD, not it WILL) make 200 mil.  Good luck to this film...

Waist Deep is falling deeper and deeper into nothing.  I don't see anything over 30 or 40 mil in its future.  A 1-2 mil weekend tops and that is all.

The Da Vinci Code is still in there!  I think this film has the strength to hold it out to 275 maybe even 300 but it is slowing down fast.  It needs to steady its momentum or it won't make it past 250.  I see a 2-3 mil weekend.

**NEW THIS WEEKEND**

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest will be released at over 8200 screens in 4000 theaters.  I see a HUGE 102 mil weekend gross for this film and then a great decline to 30 mil the following weekend.  This has the potential for a sweet opening weekend but it will not outdo its predecessor.

I will discuss more upcoming movies on Sunday for my weekend column....

3.  The Devil Wears Prada                                18,000,000
4.  Click                                                        15,000,000
5.  Cars                                                          7,000,000
